Evening Tour of the Hansen-Newell-Bennett House Museum
This year is a big one for our Historical Society, marking 50 years preserving history in our area. On June 30, 1975, we received our charter from the Wisconsin Historical Society.
What exactly does that mean?
This affiliation is a crucial step for local societies, as it establishes a formal connection with the state organization. The Wisconsin Historical Society helped us get organized, helped prepare bylaws and navigate legal requirements.
Receiving our charter signified a formal affiliation that has provided valuable support and resources allowing us to better serve our communities and contribute to the preservation of our local history, and of Wisconsin’s history.
So to celebrate this, join us on Monday, June 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for an evening open house at the Hansen-Newell-Bennett House Museum. We’ll have yard games, refreshments, and tours of the house.
